Two poachers arrested in Kashmir's Ganderbal

Two accused identified as Javid Ahmad  Malla and Mushtaq Ahmad Malla have been arrested for misusing their licensed weapon and causing huge loss to the wetlands in Shallbugh area by killing a considerable number of migratory birds.

Ganderbal: Police have arrested two poachers in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district allegedly involved in killing a large number of migratory birds in Shallabugh wetland and other areas.

The police in Ganderbal has started a special drive against poachers who are misusing their licensed weapons for hunting.

Two accused identified as Javid Ahmad Malla and Mushtaq Ahmad Malla have been arrested for misusing their licensed weapon and causing huge loss to the wetlands in Shallbugh area by killing a considerable number of migratory birds.

In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 21/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered against the said persons in Police Station Ganderbal and further investigation has been initiated.

SSP Ganderbal Khilal Ahmed Poswal - JKPS has taken up the matter with District Magistrate Ganderbal for cancellation of licenses of such persons. Teams have been constituted to keep watch in wetland areas and ensure action against such culprits.
