At the end of the meeting, PAGD spokesman Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami said that the magisterial inquiry was not acceptable to them and demanded that the government should conduct a judicial probe.

Srinagar: The People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) held a meeting in Srinagar on Thursday in the wake of a controversial clash in which three civilians were killed in Hyderpora.

The meeting was held at the residence of National Conference President Farooq Abdullah at noon on Thursday, which was attended by Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami and Hasnain Masoodi. Farooq Abdullah is also the chairman of PAGD.

PDP President Mehbooba Mufti could not attend the meeting as she was detained by police at her residence.

At the end of the meeting, PAGD spokesman Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami said that the magisterial inquiry was not acceptable to them and demanded that the government should conduct a judicial probe.

He said that the bodies should be handed over to the next of kin so that they could perform their last rites.

Relatives of three civilians, including Altaf Ahmed Bhat and Dr Mudasir Gul of Srinagar and Amir Magray of Ramban, killed in Hyderpora on Tuesday said that they were killed in cold blood by the security forces.

However, Kashmir Zone Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar had, in a press conference in Srinagar on Tuesday, said that Haider, a foreign militant, had been killed in the Hyderpora clash. He also said that Mudasir Gul and Magray were supporters of the militants while Altaf Ahmed Bhat was killed in the crossfire.
