Telephone services restored in Anantnag

After a month of scrapping Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, telephone services in Anantnag district were finally restored. The communication blackout was imposed on August 5, ahead of Parliament modifying Article 370, which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

Anantnag: All these days the administration kept claiming that the landline telephone services have been restored in the valley but the ground reality in many places stood contrary to it.

After 29 days, residents breathed a sigh of relief as landline services were finally restored in Anantnag district.

In all these days, the Hanoz landline was disconnected in Qazigund, Pahalgam as well as Anantnag district.
The communication blackout was imposed on August 5, ahead of Parliament modifying Article 370, which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, BJP chief Amit Shah and the party's working president J P Nadda met former Jammu and Kashmir governor Jagmohan Malhotra on Tuesday as part of its 'Sampark and Janjagaran Abhiyan' to reach out to leading members of society over the Centre's move to modify provisions of Article 370.
