Rifle snatched from bank guard recovered within 30 hours: Kashmir police

Two masked youth had entered Jammu and Kashmir Bank Dadsara branch yesterday and attacked the private security guard of “G Active Security service” with an axe and snatched his 12 Bore rifle.

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir police on Sunday said that a 12-bore rifle snatched from a bank guard in Dadsara area of Tral in Pulwama district has been recovered within 30 hours.

An official said that during the course of the investigation, two youth were identified during video footage analysis of the weapon snatching act.

“Among these two identified youth, one has been arrested and the snatched 12 Bore rifle of the said case has been recovered today afternoon from the school premises of the village Dadsara,” said the official.

Another accused who has also been identified is still on a run.

"Role of and the third person, if any, is being ascertained," he said.
