Srinagar: A meeting of People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD), scheduled to be held at Dr Farooq Abdullah's residence tomorrow, has been postponed. "The meeting scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed due to personal engagement of alliance's vice president Mehbooba Mufti," an alliance leader told ETV Bharat on the condition of anonymity. He further said, "the new date for the meeting will be announced separately."
As per the schedule, the meeting was going to be held at Dr Abdullah's residence at 11 pm on Tuesday. The meeting was called to discuss the issues that emerged at the All-Party meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on June 24.
At least 14 mainstream political leaders from Jammu and Kashmir, including four former chief ministers, Dr Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti and Ghulam Nabi Azad met with Modi in an all-party meeting. The leaders discussed issues like delimitation, elections and restoration of statehood for Jammu and Kashmir.

Other leaders invited to the meeting included Sajad Lone of the Peoples Conference, Syed Altaf Bukhari of JK Apni Party, Professor Bhim Singh of J&K Panthers Party and others belonging to the BJP and the Congress in the UT. Three central ministers, home minister Amit Shah, defence minister Rajnath Singh and MoS (PMO) Jitendra Singh also attended the meeting.
