Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir): Jammu and Kashmir APNI party president and former minister Syed Altaf Bukhari on Monday said he did not understand the agenda of the People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD). He also questioned whether they had forgotten the promises made to the people.
Addressing a press conference at the party office in Srinagar, he said, "The PAGD had made many high and tall claims during its formation. What happened to them? The alliance also held a meeting recently. The meeting was attended by representatives of dozens of opposition parties and was followed by a statement."
"In its statement, the Alliance never once spoke about the restoration of Article 370. It seems that it has given up from its basic agenda," he added. While demanding restoration of Jammu and Kashmir's statehood and an employment package for the youth, he said, "I want to reassure the people that we stand by what our party has said. I hope the Supreme Court will rule in favour of the people during the hearing on the restoration of Section 370."
