Petrol bomb thrown at police station in Srinagar

A petrol bomb was hurled at an old city area police station in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar district. The bomb exploded without causing any damage and the incident created panic in the area.

Srinagar: Unidentified attackers hurled a petrol bomb on security forces near Khanyar police station in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar, police said on Tuesday. "Unidentified persons lobbed a petrol bomb at an old city area police station in Srinagar which exploded without causing any damage," a senior official stated. The incident has created panic in the locality, he added. Police have launched a search operation to nab the attackers.

"A bang was heard in the area. We are trying to ascertain the nature of the blast," CRPF spokesperson Abhiram told ETV Bharat. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
