Meet Saleha Quershi, the youngest storyboard artist from Kashmir

Starting her career as a storyboard artist at the age of 19, Saleha Qureshi has created storyboards for more than six music videos

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir): Movie production requires intense artistic labour and endurance. The scenes one enjoy on the screen is the product of several storyboards. However, recreating scripts into storyboards came easily for a 21-year-old girl from Srinagar, Saleha Qureshi, who was ardently devoted to art since childhood.

Starting her career as a storyboard artist at the age of 19, Qureshi has created storyboards for more than six music videos.

In addition to Jhoom, Reham Karaiyan, Gardesh, Baliaru, Sa Re Ga Ma music has been visualised through Soliha's storyboard.

The young artist said that she could not refuse when was offered a role as a storyboard artist in 2019.

"The journey as a storyboard artist began from there. After that, many production houses approached me," she said.

"Initially, I worked with Madam Ji Kashmir, Urban Suffis. I have worked in different roles like art director, storyboard artist," said Qureshi. Art gives me immense pleasure. If one follows one's passion, then one would be happy at work," she said.

"I have been interested in art since I was a child. I used to participate in art competitions as a child. I was never bothered about prizes, I just participated and I used to do sketches, abstracts, mandala and other types of painting," said Qureshi.

Although she is not very interested in working in Bollywood, she said she will go wherever her art takes her. The BA Economics student wants to pursue art field in future as well.

Qureshi said her parents' support was pivotal in her growth as an artist. "My parents have always supported me. They told me to study fine arts. I'm not impressed by anyone, I'm just pursuing my hobby," said Qureshi.
