Ladakh: In view of the current situation on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh, Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal met with Indian Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane today. GOC Northern Command Lt Gen VK Joshi and 14 Corps Commander Lt Gen Harinder Singh were also present on the occasion.
Reiterating the bravery of the Indian Army, Member of Parliament Jamyang Tsering Namgyal said that the people of Ladakh expressed their gratitude to the Indian Army for its response to the Chinese Army's stand in the Gulwan Valley. Namgyal said, "We will never forget the great sacrifices made by our brave soldiers."
MP Namgyal said that while the people of Ladakh were of a peace-loving nature, any threat to sovereignty and territorial integrity would be met with equal force.

He further said that the people of Ladakh will always stand by the Indian Army. During the meeting, MP Namgyal spoke on various issues related to national defense, civil-military relations, the need for a corpus dedicated to East Ladakh, the addition of a battalion in Ladakh, the development of border infrastructure, free movement of local citizens and nomads within the area, development works, and others.
