Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir): In a shocking incident, a youth on Tuesday sustained abdominal injuries after he was allegedly stabbed by his fiance in Srinagar city of Kashmir, local inputs said. Police have arrested the accused woman in the case. According to local inputs, the incident took place in the afternoon in Kak Sarai area of Srinagar, a few kilometers from the city centre Lal Chowk.
The youth, identified as Aadil Ahmad of Bemina area of Srinagar, suffered abdominal injuries after being stabbed by his fiancée in Darish Kadal locality of Kak Sarai area, a senior police officer told ETV Bharat. After stabbing her fiance, the accused woman fled the spot leaving the youth in a pool of blood. The injured was shifted to SMHS hospital, a tertiary care hospital in the vicinity of the locality where the attack took place.
Chief Medical Officer SMHS, Dr Asif while sharing an update on the condition of the injured youth, said: "He has sustained an injury in his abdomen, but his condition is stable". A police officer said that the motive behind the attack was not immediately known. An investigation into the incident has been launched into the incident.

A spokesman for the Srinagar district police said that thea accused woman has been arrested adding the victim is stable now. Significantly, the alleged attack comes a day after that two boys, Hidayat Ahmed Tantre son of Abdul Rashid and Ibrahim Ahmed Tantre son of Noor Muhammad - both residents of Behama Ganderbal, were attacked with a knife by an unidentified youth in the Ganderbal district of central Kashmir. Both were taken to District Hospital Ganderbal from where they were referred to SKIMS, Soura for treatment.
The condition of the injured youths is said to be stable. It can be recalled that in Jan. 2021, a youth was killed and another injured in a scuffle near Dastgir Sahib Dargah in Khanyar area of Srinagar. According to the police, Zian Chishti son of Muhammad Ashraf Chishti, a resident of Ranawari area of Srinagar, was stabbed to death while another youth with him was identified as Faizan Fida Butt, son of Fida Ahmed Butt, a resident of Srinagar was injured in the attack.
The assailant was later arrested in the incident.
