Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir): High-speed 4G internet is likely to be restored in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, after remaining suspended for almost a year and a half.
"All preparations for the restoration of high-speed internet have been completed. Ministry of Home Affairs has also been communicated and there was a positive response," a top source in the Jammu and Kashmir administration told ETV Bharat.
He, however, said that "the final decision will be taken by today evening."
"4G restoration can happen this evening or in a few days," he added.
Interestingly, the restrictions on high-speed internet by the Jammu and Kashmir's home department ends on February 6.
In 2019, during the intervening night of August 4 and 5, internet services were snapped in Jammu and Kashmir, following which the special status of the erstwhile state was revoked by the central government.
