Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday claimed to have busted the gang behind issuing threats to social activists, political leaders, government officers and journalists. IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar also said that five people have been arrested in connection with the incident.
"Five people have been arrested including the kingpin of the gang. This gang was running Kashmirfight.wordpress.com and were issuing threats to social activists, political leaders, government officers and journalists," Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar told ETV Bharat.

He further said, "On Saturday, search operations were launched at multiple locations across Jammu and Kashmir. During the raid, cell phones, digital storage devices and computing platforms were recovered. At one place, 32 mobile phones, one tablet, two laptops, four hard disks, seven memory cards and one dongle were recovered."
Identifying the arrested men, Kumar said, "Nazish Yasrab Rehmani and Tabish Akbar Rehmani from Sanat Nagar, Sofi Muhammad Akbar from Raj Bagh, Peerzada Raqif Makhdoomi from Hazratbal and Javed Khalid from Poonch area have been taken into custody."

"Following the analysis of the data from the recovered devices, the plan behind the killing of journalist Shujat Bukhari, Advocate Babar Qadri, and businessman Satpal Nischal would be clear," he said.
The IGP also started that the blog site had been working on a modus operandi wherein the name of the victim was first published, then he was profiled giving a detailed justification as to how and why he is a legitimate target for the militants.
