Jammu and Kashmir: At least four terrorists were killed in an encounter that broke out between security forces and terrorists at Amshipora area in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian in early hours of Saturday. 

Earlier today, Defence Public Relations Officer (PRO) said that three terrorists were killed in the encounter at Amshipora area of Shopian. Operation is still in progress.

Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow, said Kashmir Zone Police. Two unidentified terrorists were killed in the encounter with the security forces at the Nagnad-Chimmer area in Kulgam on Friday morning, police said.

Earlier, three terrorists were killed in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam on Friday and one of them has been identified as members of the terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).

Three Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists including an IED expert have been killed in an encounter with the security forces at the Nagnad-Chimmer area of Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam on Friday, as per the Director-General of Police, Dilbag Singh.

The ADG said that the terrorists were given instructions by their Pakistani handlers and were responsible for a large number of attacks.

Three army jawans were injured during the exchange of fire and were shifted to the Army hospital. Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition have been recovered.

In the late hours of Friday night, three members of a family were killed when Pakistani troops shelled various forward areas and civilian places along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district.

A shell landed on a house in Karmara village in which Mohd Rafiq (58), his wife Rafia Bi (50) and son Irfan (15) died on the spot, said Vijay Kumar, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir.
