The confrontation unfolded in the Hathlanga area of Uri, situated within Baramulla district, where a joint operation was launched by the local police and the army. This incident comes on the heels of a tragic encounter earlier in the week, where an Army Colonel, a Major, and a Deputy Superintendent of Police (Dy Sp) lost their lives during an intense confrontation with militants in the Kokernag area of the Anantnag district in Jammu and Kashmir.
