Bandipora: The Bandipora district administration airlifted a critically injured 4-year-old girl from Gurez's Tulail area to a hospital in Bandipora where she is under treatment.
Toiba Manzoor had fallen from the roof of her home in the far flung area of Tulail, injuring herself critically. As the Gurez-Tulail road is closed due to the heavy snowfall in the last few days, the family could not take her to a hospital for treatment. The girl was in severe pain after which the family contacted the local authorities for help.
After the permission from DC Bandipora, the authorities swung into action and arranged the airlift for the patient. She was airlifted to the Bandipora district hospital, following which she was referred to Srinagar for further treatment.
Toiba's family and locals in Tulail hailed DC Bandipora and the authorities for timely help.
The Gurez Valley remains cut off from the rest of the world for about 5 months during winters owing to heavy snowfall in the valley. Tulail being close to the Line of Control also remains cut off due to the snow. Tulail area of Gurez is about 130 kms away from Bandipora town.
