Residents of Himachal village forced to cross river on foot

With as many as five bridges collapsing last year, due to heavy rain in the Kut village of Himachal Pradesh, the people of the area are now left with no other option but to risk lives and cross rivers by foot.

Rampur (Himachal Pradesh): Putting their lives at risk, residents of Kut village in Himachal Pradesh's Rampur district are forced to cross a river on foot to reach the other side for work and to run errands.

Villagers of Kut village are facing trouble because as many as five bridges in the area were collapsed last year due to severe rain.

As many five bridges, that connected the villagers with the rest of the town, collapsed last year following heavy rains.

The villagers have raised their concerns several times with the local administration but to no avail.

The Sarpanch of the village, however, said that he has decided to approach Chief Minister Jairam Thakur regarding the problems faced by the villagers.

He further added that if the CM doesn't pay heed to their issues they will be forced to file a petition in the High Court.
