Dharamshala (HP): Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the whole country's life has been impacted tremendously. As the people have quarantined themselves inside their homes due to the lockdown, animals are facing issues as no one can serve them food now.
Earlier, the Municipal Corporation of Dharamshala is providing food to the poor people, but now it has started feeding the street-wandering dogs too.
Dharamshala Municipal Corporation Devinder Singh Jaggi took note of the concerns of people who were giving suggestions for a long time that something should be done to help the stray dogs.
"A corporation van is sent daily to feed the street animals so that they can also get food," he informed.
Arrangements have been made by the corporation to distribute food to dogs and other animals with the help of other people, there will be a limited number of passes for this.
The dogs used to roam around in the streets and near hotels before the lockdown and feed themselves but due to the lockdown, they were left with no option but to remain hungry.
Looking at this situation, the Municipal Corporation has decided to look after the matter and has started the initiative to feed the animals.
Earlier, the government took the responsibility to provide food to poor people. Now, in this new initiative, it has been decided to serve food to the animals.
People are now appreciating the government's effort as they have set an example for every citizen.
