Today we will take you to a place where Lord Shiva took refuge to escape from Bhasmasura. This place still remains a challenge for the science.
The famous cave known as Dyar in Kunihar of Solan is today known as Shiva Tandava Cave. This cave has been a centre of reverence and devotion for years. Every Monday there is a crowd of devotees in this extraordinary cave. Shiva Tandava cave belongs to the Satyuga. It is believed that Lord Bhole Nath who protected the whole world also took refuge in this cave for some time.

Long back inside the Shiv Tandava cave, milk used to fall on the Shivling from the rocks that were in the shape of cow's udder. However later on
the water started falling from them. The consecration of Lord Shiva's holy Shiva lingam is said to be a natural process. The water dripping from the rocks of the shape of cow's udder also surprises the science.
It is believed that Bhasmasura worshipped Shiva and after pleasing Lord Shiva he had asked for a boon. Bhasmasura had asked that the head of the person would be destroyed on whomever he would put his hands on.
Bhasmasura wanted to use the boon on Bhole Shankar and in order to protect himself, Lord Shiva hid in the Himalayas. He would go to any caves where he would leave Swayambhu Shiva Pindi leaves as his symbol. It is said that Bhole Nath also entered this Shiva Tandava cave to protect life.
According to ancient mythological stories inside this cave, Funeshwar Shesh Nag was sitting. Trikaldarshi Sheshnag hid Bholenath under his giant hood and when Bhasmasura entered the cave with a chirping. However, Sheshnag turned back and spread his hood and Bhasmasura could not find Shiva. After this, Bholenath got disappeared in the cave leaving the souvenirs of his Pindi, Sheshnag Fun and Nandi bull.

Even today his Shivling, Sheshnag hood, and Nandi bull narrate the chronicles of ancient times. It's mysterious to believe that the snake can bear the weight of this entire cave. People find spiritual peace in this cave which looks like Amarnath Cave. The structure of the cave has been carved naturally in such a way that even the Dev Shilpi could not have done it in Satyuga.
