An elderly couple in Himachal Pradesh was able to receive timely treatment on the intervention of ETV Bharat reporter who informed the police and they took the couple to the hospital.

Hamirpur (Himachal Pradesh): Due to the rising cases of coronavirus, the district administration and police are making all efforts to ensure that the elderly, considered the most susceptible to the virus, do not have to leave the house.

District Police Hamirpur is making sure that every facility is provided to the elderly people on their doorsteps.

However, due to some negligence, an old couple at the district headquarters had to face some problems as both of them were forced to leave the house to go to the hospital under compulsion and were being returned from medical college, Hamirpur without proper treatment as the OPD wards were not being operated in the hospitals.

However, ETV Bharat's reporter Kamlesh Bhardwaj reached the spot and spoke to the elderly couple.

The elderly couple informed the reporter their son-in-law and grandson refused to take them to the hospital which compelled them to come out of their house on their own.

The reporter immediately informed the SHO of Sadar police station Sanjeev Gautam.

The team reached the spot from Sadar police station and spoke to the elders and got their hands sanitized keeping in mind the safety parameters.

They were also taken to the medical college for treatment. After the treatment, the elderly couple were taken to their home.

SHO Sanjeev Gautam in conversion with the ETV Bharat reporter thanked the team for coming to the rescue of the couple and for informing the police on time.

The timely action by ETV Bharat reporter helped the elderly couple get the required treatment on time.
