Documentary on Indian endurance athlete to be premiered in Canada

A documentary on Manali-based endurance athlete Kieren D'Souza has been selected to the Canadian Adventure Sports Film Festival. The film showcases D'Souza's ascent to the summit of Friendship Peak which stands tall at 5,287 metres in Himachal Pradesh

Manali: Manali-based marathon runner Kieren D'Souza's documentary has been selected to the Adventure Sports Film Festival in Canada.

The which film showcases D'Souza's ascent to the summit of Friendship Peak which stands tall at 5,287 metres in Himachal Pradesh.

While most climbers take around six days to scale the ‘Friendship Peak’, Kieren did it in just 11 hours 45 minutes.

D'Souza, originally from Nagpur, has always been fond of running. So far, D'Souza has come under the spotlight several times for his unique achievements.

The film festival in Canada will be held in December. Movies from all over the world will be premiered in the film festival.

Kieren said that there is a lot of potential for trail running in Manali. He thanked the Sub Divisional Magistrate of Manali, Raman Gharsangi, for his support.

D’Souza also set another groundbreaking speed attempt record by summiting the 6001m tall Deo Tibba in just 19 hours and 38 minutes. It believed that experienced climbers take eight to 10 days to climb the peak.

D'Souza, who has been an endurance athlete for the past decade, has been also working with the Indian Ultra and Trail running teams.
