Karnal (Haryana): At least three people were killed and three others injured in a collision between a car and a truck in Haryana's Karnal district here on Saturday.
The accident took place near the National Highway 44 near Bastara toll plaza, killing two children and one woman, all residents of Shimla in Himachal Pradesh.
According to the reports, the accident took place when the car was hit by a speedy truck from behind. Such was the impact that when it hit the car, five vehicles collided from behind.
The victims, who were stuck in the car, was extricated out of the car with a lot of efforts by the samaritans.

The bystanders alleged that the police and ambulance took long to come even after being called on urgency, due to which the patients couldn't reach the hospital on time.
The case has been registered at the Madhuban police station and an investigation has started.
Meanwhile, police sent the bodies for postmortem at the Kalpana Chawla Medical College and Hospital in Karnal and are in search of the unidentified truck driver who is absconding.
