Rewari: Sacked Border Security Force (BSF) constable who made headlines for posting videos on quality of food served to soldiers has decided to contest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Tej Bahadur Yadav, a resident of Rewari, will be contesting from the Varanasi seat.

While attacking PM Modi over his promises of eradicating corruption from the country, Yadav said that he will campaign on the issue of corruption free India.

The former constable said that he has been preparing for elections from the past several months.

"Hundreds of people in Varanasi are in touch with me. I have also registered a name in the voter list of Varanasi," he said.

In January 2017, Yadav had posted videos criticising the food quality served to soldiers at his camp along LoC in Jammu and Kashmir.

The videos went so viral that it triggered outrage across the country with the Prime Minister's office taking cognizance of the matter and home ministry ordering an enquiry into the case.

However, the BSF refuted all these allegations after which Yadav was dismissed from his service for making false claims.

Presently, Yadav lives with his family in Rewari. In January this year, his son committed suicide by shooting himself in his home whileYadav had gone to attend Kumbh Mela.
