Haryana Minister makes controversial remarks on farmers

Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal Gujjar gave a controversial statement on farmers at a programme in Yamunanagar. He said that farmers do not require monetarily help of Rs 6,000 as they waste this much amount in consuming liquor.

Yamunanagar: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal Gujjar gave a controversial statement on farmers at a programme to commemorate BR Ambedkar's 130th birth anniversary in Yamunanagar.

Speaking at the function, he said that farmers do not require monetarily help of Rs 6,000 as they waste this much amount in consuming liquor.

"Farmers say that they don't want Rs 6,000 from the government. They definitely don't require this money because they usually waste this much on liquor," he said, adding that now his statement will become viral on social media.

Gujjar said that three farm laws are for the betterment of farmers and asked the agitating farmers to come on the stage and tell the drawbacks of laws if they think so.

He further said that he is ready to debate with anyone one on three farms laws and their benefits.
