Ahmedabad: PM Narendra Modi’s new year gift to Gujarat, Kevadia-Vadodara train service to start from January 16, Kevadia station to be inaugurated, Ahmedabad metro train to be flagged off on January 18.
PM Modi will inaugurate four projects during four days between January 16 and 18. Disclosing this, chief minister Vijay Rupani said PM Modi will launch the Kevadia-Vadodara train service on January 16. The Kevadia railway station too will be opened for the public through e-dedication and on January 18, the Ahmedabad metro phase-2 will be inaugurated.
Railway service to the Statue of Unity to start soon
Rail service to the Statue of Unity is to start soon. Announcing this today, CM Vijay Rupani said PM Modi, through re-launch, will inaugurate the new Kevadia-Vadodara railway line and the station at Kevadia. The work on the railway line and the railway station is being done on a war footing.
Narmada will become the country’s first eco-friendly railway station
The country’s first eco-friendly railway station Narmada will be at Kevadia. There will be a facility to stay at the railway station as also a Sardar Patel art gallery here.
Rs 663 crore to be spent on Kevadia
The railway line from Vadodara to Kevadia will be through Dabhoi. The government hopes to draw more number of tourists after the railway service becomes operational. An electric train will take just one hour from Vadodara to Kevadia. A test run between Vadodara and Dabhoi was conducted in the last five days. In the first test run, the train was run at a speed of 100 kmph followed by a speed of 130 kmph and now it would be at 150 kmph.
The country’s eco-friendly railway station will have electricity from solar power. Even though there are some incomplete work between Dabhoi and Kevadia stations, CM Vijay Rupani today announced that the PM Modi will throw the train service open through e-dedication.
Railway track between Vadodara and Kevadia
While the work on the railway track between Vadodara and Kevadia has been completed, there is still much to be done on the overbridge between the two stations. The work on the overbridge at Gabhana is being done on a war footing. The work on the underpass at the railway crossing near Tilakwada is still incomplete.
Railway general manager, who visited recently, directed the officials and employees to speed up the work. While the test runs up to Chandod was done, the test run from Chandod to Kevadia is still to be done.
PM Modi likely to inaugurate the ultra modern Gandhinagar railway station
Most work on the ultra-modern railway station at Gandhinagar has been completed. It is likely that PM Modi may perform its virtual inauguration on January 18. A 300-room five-star hotel has also come up on the railway station from one can see the Golden complex and the state assembly building. This would be the country’s railway station where a special room will be provided for travellers to perform prayers while waiting for the train. There is also a baby feeding room facility at the station.
