Ahmedabad: Security is being beefed up by the police following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's seaplane program at Sabarmati Riverfront. Constant police patrols and points have been placed on the riverfront and on the road. Importantly, the boat used for patrolling the sea by the police has been brought to Ahmedabad from Kandla to patrol the Sabarmati river. A boat of Kandla Coastal Police of Gujarat has been brought to Ahmedabad today. Tight police arrangements will be made in the Sabarmati river following Prime Minister Modi's program. There will be continuous patrolling in the river in rescue boats as well as coastal police boats. At the same time, the Ahmedabad Fire Brigade will be constantly patrolling the river.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Ahmedabad on Friday morning on a two-day visit during which he is scheduled to launch a host of projects, including the famed seaplane service between Kevadiya and Ahmedabad. This will be Modi''s first visit to his home state since the coronavirus outbreak in Gujarat in March-end.

During his trip, Modi would also pay tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at the ''Statue of Unity'' near Kevadiya on the occasion of birth anniversary of the first Home Minister of independent India on October 31, officials said.
PM is set to launch the famed seaplane service connecting Kevadiya and Ahmedabad on October 31.
A water aerodrome having a floating platform has been built in a lake near the Sardar Sarovar Dam. The PM would board a seaplane from the lake and reach the Sabarmati Riverfront, officials said.
