Ahmedabad: Currently placed under curfew, coronavirus pandemic cases are on the rise in the city of Ahmedabad.
Director-General of Police Shivanand Jha has instructed the policemen to strictly implement the curfew and file cases against those found violating it.
As police forces are patrolling and making sure that the lockdown and curfew continue as per the guidelines, one can't help thinking about their safety and well-being.
ETV Bharat tried to find out how safe are the policemen under the present circumstances.
In Kalupur, Dariapur, Karanj and Shahpur police station only some policemen were found wearing mask and gloves.
On questioning, ETV Bharat learned that masks and gloves have been issued by the administration to few policemen only.
They are apprehensive of catching the infection while making arrests as they remain unsure of the medical condition of the violators.
Earlier, a person arrested near Shahpur police station area was later tested positive for coronavirus, which caused grave concern among the city police staff.
While the policemen are doing their duty with full commitment, they demand nothing but issuance of proper safety gears.
