Gujarat: Unique Covid-19 isolation ward at gaushala

A unique isolation center, based on ayurveda practice (Vedalakshana Panchgavya Ayurveda) for Covid-19 patients has been opened at Rajaram Gaushala Ashram of Tetoda village in Banaskantha district of Gujarat.

Banaskantha (Gujarat): Covid-19 is spreading fast across the country and the Banaskantha district of Gujarat is also badly affected. While Covid Care Centers and Isolation Wards are being set up in rural areas by the State Government, there are no adequate facilities. So the administrators of a Gaushala have come forward to provide treatment to the people of Banaskantha district.

The isolation center is now functioning and treatment is given to the patients. Even patients with comorbidity are being taken care of. For the treatment, both Ayurveda and Allopathic practitioners are available at Tetoda Gaushala, which is near Deesa town.

Patients are given food that has been grown organically. The grains and spices used in the kitchen are sourced from organic farms. The patients are given Panchgavya Amrit, which is prepared using five Panchagavya as per Ayurvedic – Gaumutra (Cow urine), ghee, milk and curd and Ayurvedic herbs.

Patients are being given food made from farm produces, which has been grown as per organic farming. These farms use cow dung, cow urine and natural material as fertilisers. As this Gaushala follows Vedic rituals, there is daily Yagna being performed, which enhances the strength of human beings.

The Panchgavya Ayurveda Covid Care Center of Rajaram Gaushala has 50 beds. The center has employed one ayurveda and one allopathic doctor and there are also five nurses to take care of the patients. To keep the centre cool, the roof has been covered by grass in a traditional way. This naturally maintains the temperature in the Covid centre.

The ashram is home to 5,000 cows and is treating patients in a natural environment. Says Ramratan Maharaj, the head of the Gaushala, “the coronavirus has spread to rural areas, so we are taking care of them.

In Ayurveda, the grains grown with the natural fertilizer of the mother cow is considered healthy. They provide you with more immunity. We are also using allopathic medicine so that patients recover fast. All Patients are being treated with the Vedalakshana Panchgavya Ayurveda method. We have here 5000 cows and so the natural and pleasant environment is here and patients feel at home.”

Along with patients from villages of Banaskantha district, there are many patients who have come all the way from Rajasthan. As Banaskantha is a district adjacent to Rajasthan, so many corona patients from there have come here. They have heard about the good treatment and facilities provided here.

The patients are happy that their health is improving with the unique method of treatment here. Many patients have recovered and returned home. As the second wave of Covid-19 has proved to be disastrous and there are no beds available in the city hospitals, this centre has come as a boon.
