BSF on high alert in Kutch ahead of Independence day

A high alert has been issued on the India-Pakistan border amid tensions with Pakistan and China. The Border Security Force (BSF) personnel have been instructed to increase the vigil on the international border in Kutch district in Gujarat.

Kutch (Gujarat): A high alert has been issued on the India-Pakistan border amid tensions with Pakistan and China. The Border Security Force (BSF) personnel have been instructed to increase the vigil on the international border in Kutch district in Gujarat. Following the high alert, BSF has increased its personnel to patrol the border areas of Kutch and maintain strict vigil.

Every year, such an alert is issued to BSF before 15 August and 26 January. The Kutch border has seen several incidents of infiltration of terrorists and smugglers from the land and marine boundary of Kutch. BSF, Coast Guard, and Marine Police conduct regular patrolling and area domination exercises in the area.

BSF's Inspector General GS Malik said in a telephonic conversation with ETV Bharat that the security has been tightened on the Gujarat border on 15 August. Everyone will have minimum staff at the headquarters. The rest of the jawans have been sent to the border. He further added that the security has been beefed up along the coastal area and the land border.
