Rajkot (Gujarat): A four-day-old infant girl, sustaining deep cuts on her body, was rescued from dogs by a group of children in Khebachada village of Gujarat's Rajkot on Wednesday night. She was rushed to the KD Children's Civil Hospital where her condition is said to be critical.
Few kids who were playing cricket late on Wednesday night rescued the infant from dogs after they heard her wailing and called the ambulance for help.
The 108 emergency team instantly reached the spot and provided first-aid to the infant who suffered over twenty deep cuts. They later admitted her to the hospital where she is kept under observation.
Meanwhile, the police suspect that the four-day-old infant girl was dumped by her parents and was later mauled by dogs. It is unlikely that dogs got hold of the infant unless she was dumped in open.
A case has been registered and a hunt is on to find her parents.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
