UP farmers call off agitation as govt accepts their key demands

After meeting with the delegation of Bhartiya Kisan Sangathan, the government on Saturday accepted five of 15 key demands of agitating farmers from Uttar Pradesh. Earlier, hundreds of farmers marched to Delhi under the umbrella of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh demanding loan waiver, settlement of dues for sugarcane crop, cheap electricity and pension.

New Delhi: The government on Saturday accepted five of fifteen key demands of agitating farmers from Uttar Pradesh following a meeting with their delegation at the Krishi Bhawan in New Delhi.

Speaking to the media, leader of Bhartiya Kisan Sangathan, Lalit Rana said that the government has agreed to five of our fifteen demands.

"We will again meet the Prime Minister after ten days for the remaining demands. We have been assured by the central government that information about every concrete step taken by the government will be intimated to the Bhartiya Kisan Sangathan through Joint Secretary Vivek Agrawal," Rana added.

This development came after a delegation of agitating farmers comprising 11 members met senior government officials at the Krishi Bhawan hours after hundreds of them marched to Delhi under the umbrella of the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh demanding loan waiver, settlement of dues for sugarcane crop, cheap electricity and pension.

Intro:किसानों अपनी मांगों को केंद्र सरकार के समक्ष रखने के लिए 11 लोगों का प्रतिनिधिमंडल कृषि मंत्रालय रवाना हुआ था, सरकार द्वारा द्वारा 15 मुख्य मांगों में से 5 मांगों को स्वीकार कर लिया गया है.


Body:भारतीय किसान संगठन भारतीय किसान संगठन का 11 लोगों का प्रतिनिधिमंडल केंद्र सरकार के समक्ष अपनी मांगे रखने में सफल हुआ सरकार द्वारा किसानों की 15 मुख्य मांगों में से पांच मांगों का निस्तारण कर दिया गया है.


भारतीय किसान संगठन के नेता ललित राणा ने बताया हमारे जो 15 मुद्दे थे उसमें से 5 मुद्दों का तत्काल निस्तारण किया गया है और जो बाकी बचे हुए 10 मुद्दे हैं उसमें प्रधानमंत्री और कृषि मंत्रीकि की उपस्थिति में उनका निर्धारित समय में निस्तारण करने का आश्वासन दिया गया है.

केंद्र सरकार द्वारा मजबूत तरीके से हमें आश्वस्त किया गया है की सरकार द्वारा लिए गए हर ठोस कदम की जानकारी भारतीय किसान संगठन को संयुक्त सचिव विवेक अग्रवाल के माध्यम से उपलब्ध कराई जाएगी, उन्होंने प्रधानमंत्री और गृह मंत्री के साथ मिलकर किसानों के तमाम मुद्दों का निस्तारण कराने का आश्वासन दिया है.

उन्होंने कहा हम पूरी तरह से आश्वस्त हैं कि भारतीय किसान संगठन का जो आंदोलन था वह पूरी तरह से अपने मुकाम पर पहुचा है.
