There should be no politics on NEET, JEE: BJP

BJP has slammed Congress and other political parties opposing decision to hold NEET and JEE next month, saying they are playing with future of the students.

New Delhi: The BJP on Saturday slammed the Congress and other political parties opposing the government's decision to hold NEET and JEE entrance exams in September.

Speaking to ETV Bharat here, BJP national spokesperson Sudesh Verma said it was not fair on part of the opposition political parties to protest against the government's decision to hold competitive examinations.

"They should instead talk about precautions that students must take while appearing for the exams," he said, adding that given the nature of the infectious disease, anyone can even get infected sitting at home also.

"Just think how the country would function in case doctors, security personnel, media and others stop working just because of the coronavirus," the BJP leader said.

He said the central government has areday assured all concerned that proper care would be taken at the exam centres and Covid-19 guidelines will be followed.

Verma said it was being done in the larger interest of the students.

"In case the exams are postponed the whole chain their academic activities will get disturbed," he asserted, saying that political parties must not politicize the issue.
