New Delhi: Former Union Minister and BJP Spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain on Thursday accused Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Mohammad Azam Khan of stealing government's belongings and keeping them in his house.
Uttar Pradesh police on Tuesday raided SP leader Azam Khan's Mohammad Ali Jauhar University in Rampur and recovered books which were allegedly stolen from a 250-year-old madrasa.
He said: "First, it was land grabbing, then lion statues and now books."
Shahnawaz Hussain stated that up to what extent is it justified to steal the government's land and belongings. A thorough probe should be held in connection with the matter, he added.
In conversation with ETV Bharat, Shahnawaz Hussain also commented on the decision of Enforcement Directorate (ED) to ask Karti Chidambaram to vacate his Jor Bhag house, who has been accused in money laundering case, to vacate his Jor Bhag house.
On being asked about the CCD Founder VG Siddhartha's death, he expressed shock over the issue and offered their condolences over the tragic death.
Siddhartha, the founder of India’s largest coffee chain, went missing on Monday night en route to the coastal Karnataka city of Mangaluru, with a letter purportedly written by him showing he was under "tremendous pressure" from lenders and one of the private equity partners (PEs). The letter also alleged "a lot of harassment" from tax authorities.
