New Delhi(India): A special train which will help in preventing mosquito breeding along the railway tracks in Delhi will flag-off from August 30.
Special Mosquito Terminator train will be running in areas adjacent to the railway tracks to prevent diseases like dengue and malaria. Divisional Railway Manager Delhi, Commissioner/ SDMC and Senior Railway officials will be present for the flagging-off.
The train passes through Dayabasti, Seva Nagar, Lajpat Nagar, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Lodhi Colony and nearby areas.
Once the train starts, at a fixed interval it will spray anti-mosquito insecticides along the tracks for the next one month (30 August to 4 October).
The anti-mosquito train will run from 5 o'clock to 9 o'clock in the morning in which railway uses special kind of DBKM spray to kill mosquitoes.
The Ministry of Railway grants permission for such over-dimension consignments.
The drive has been going on for years as a precautionary measure to minimise mosquito breeding alongside railway tracks in Delhi area.
