New Delhi: Congress President Sonia Gandhi has called a meeting of Lok Sabha MPs on Friday to discuss the prevailing situation of Covid-19 in the country.
"A meeting has been called at 11 am on Friday. It will be a virtual meeting, that is going to be conducted on zoom," a Congress MP told ETV Bharat.
On Thursday, India reported 4,12,262 new cases and 3,980 deaths in the last 24 hours, which is the country's worst Covid number till now.

On Saturday, Congress President Sonia Gandhi had released a video message expressing 'deep concern' over the continuous surge in Covid cases across the country. She had urged the government to prepare a national policy to tackle this pandemic by holding discussions with all political parties.
Gandhi has been continuously demanding the Central Government to transfer Rs 6000 in the accounts of poor people amid the Covid induced lockdown in various states and also to provide vaccines to all the citizens.

In addition to this, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, recently, has also demanded the Center to impose a nationwide lockdown to break the chain of Coronavirus, providing a minimum income guarantee to the vulnerable sections.
