New Delhi: The third round of monthly serosurvey in the national capital is on and people are queuing up at the sample collection centres to find out if they have developed antibodies for coronavirus, the contagious disease which has killed lakhs of people and disrupted normal life across the globe.
ETV Bharat visited one of the sample collection centres in the city situated in Model Town and found out that people are being informed about the importance of the on-going survey and are also encouraged to participate in the exercise.
The community health workers, also known as Asha workers, are informing people about the camp in their locality. They also help people understand its significance, said doctor Kusum Arora.
The doctor said all possible precautions are taken to ensure that there's no transmission of the virus as the samples are collected.
"It's a random survey and only a person from a family can get himself/herself tested," she said, adding that a consent form is filled before the sample is taken. Also, other details such as an address, occupation and if the person was infected earlier are taken.
