Reserved category students to benefit from DU’s special cut-off list

A special cut off list will soon be released for admission against remaining seats in DU university colleges, in which the reserved class students will have more opportunity to take admissions. At the same time, students of general category will also have the opportunity to enrol themselves in some courses.

New Delhi: The Delhi University (DU) will release a special cut-off list for the remaining seats in the ongoing admission process in which reserved category students will have more opportunity to take admissions. Apart from this, students of the general category will also have the opportunity to take admission in some courses but they will not be able to change their college after taking admission.

Under the special cut off list, the admission process was to start from November 18 but many university officials tested coronavirus positive due to which the admission process has been disturbed. At the same time, the details about vacant seats in different colleges have been given to the university administration and it is being speculated that a new date will be announced soon.

With the special list, the general category students will have the opportunity to enrol themselves in popular courses such as B.Com Hons, B.Com, Economics Honours, Political Science Honours, English Honours, History Honours and BSc Maths Honours. Apart from these courses, they will also have enrolment opportunity in many science courses and a few courses like linguistic courses.

Many colleges can also offer admission opportunities to them in some popular courses, but the cut off list for the general students are expected to be high.

The students taking admission under the special cut off list will not have the facility to change their colleges. Usually, during admission, the students have the opportunity to transfer admission from one college to another. For this, the students had to pay a small fee of just one rupee.

The admission process is going on for the academic session 2020-21 in DU colleges. So far five cut-off lists have been released for admission in various undergraduate courses and more than 68 thousand students have taken admission in the university’s various colleges.
