New Delhi: Two Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders on Tuesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the capital amid farmers' protest and said that a solution will be out soon as the PM is aware is every development and Union Agriculture minister Narendra Tomar is working hard to find a midway.
Former Union Ministers Surjit Kumar Jyani and Harjit Singh Grewal held a discussion with the PM for over 70 minutes at his residence.
Talking to ETV Bharat, Former union minister Jyani said he is an old acquaintance of the PM and in the meeting, Modi Ji asked about our old member. "Since the movement does not have a face, it becomes difficult to hold a dialogue with them. The government wants the protests to end soon as the winter is getting worse day by day and farmers should go back home," said Jyani.
"The farmers' union should elect one or more leaders to negotiate with the government," Jyani suggested.
"The prime minister understands Punjab very well, he is looking after the party's work and has traveled across the state," he told PTI adding that all issues related to Punjab were discussed in the meeting.
