Preparations underway for fourth phase of LS polls

Poll preparations for the fourth phase of the general elections have begun. The fourth phase of the Lok Sabha polls will be held on April 29 and the final count of votes will be on May 23 and the result will be declared on the same day.

New Delhi: Poll preparations are currently underway in 71 Lok Sabha constituencies spread over nine states, and Kulgam district of Anantnag Parliamentary seat in Jammu and Kashmir, for the fourth phase of the general elections.

Voting will be held in 17 constituencies in Maharashtra, 13 each in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, eight in West Bengal, six each in Madhya Pradesh and Odisha, five in Bihar, and three in Jharkhand.

Polling will also be held for the 42 Assembly seats in Odisha, along with by-elections to Chhindwara Assembly seat in Madhya Pradesh, Nighasan in Uttar Pradesh, and Krishnaganj in West Bengal.

In Maharashtra, the 17 constituencies going to polls are six Mumbai seats, Thane, Kalyan, Bhiwandi, Nashik, Palghar, Maval, Shirdi, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg, Shirur, Dindori, and Nandurbar.
Bihar will witness polling in Darbhanga, Ujjiarpur, Samastipur, Begusarai, and Munger. Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir will also witness polling.
