New Delhi: Over 200 people have been sent for quarantine at Nehru Vihar quarantine centre by Delhi and Punjab governments on Wednesday. They were stranded at the gurdwara in New Delhi's Majnu Ka Tilla area during the ongoing lockdown.
According to sources, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee and Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee had sent 2 buses to Punjab on 29 March. Due to fewer buses and more people, some people were stuck in New Delhi's Majnu Ka Tilla area.

The president of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), Manjinder Singh Sirsa has blamed Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh for not swiftly rescuing the stranded Sikhs. He said he had to seek the help of the Delhi and central governments.
On 31 March, a video was released by Manjinder Singh Sirsa seeking help from Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and the Delhi government. In that video Manjinder Singh Sirsa had also appealed Punjab MP Amar Singh to evacuate those people and send them back home safely.
Teams of Delhi Police and Health Department are present at gurudwara Majnu Ka Tilla and started quarantining them at Nehru Vihar quarantine centre, sources added.
