New Delhi: The concept of 'One Nation One Election' has got major hype, especially after the Narendra Modi government came back to power for a second consecutive term.
Speaking exclusively to ETV Bharat, BJP leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussain stated that conducting both Lok Sabha and Assembly elections separately results in a huge wastage of government money, which also affects the progress of the country in many ways.
He said that if the Assembly elections and Lok Sabha elections in Orissa and Andhra Pradesh can be conducted at the same time, then this concept can be implemented even nationwide.
He also mentioned that they will try to pass all the bills including the Triple Talaq Bill.
Reportedly, the Law Commission had recently convened a 3-day national session to get the opinion of various political parties, regional parties, and administrative officials in this regard. Some political parties agreed to this idea in the session. But most political parties had opposed it and argued that this idea is against the democratic process.
