New Delhi: An elderly woman who had been operated twice by the doctors in Balaji Medical Institute of Paschim Vihar in New Delhi for Nephrolithiasis (kidney stone) ailment is still in critical condition. The staff of the hospital was negligent towards her, alleged kin of the woman.
Babita Devi, daughter-in-law of the patient said, "She was suffering from severe stomach ache. So we admitted her to the Balaji Medical Institute situated at Paschim Vihar. After the check-up, the doctors said that she was having kidney stone which was the cause for her extreme pain."
"She was operated and was discharged after two days. The same day, she felt stomach ache and was again admitted in the same hospital, " she added.

The family members alleged that after the operation, it was found that the contaminated blood was not pumped out of the body which caused the infection in the woman's body.
Sandeep Kumar, the doctor ofBalaji Medical Institute, said, "There was some pus in the gall bladder and we operated for the same and a drain pipe was used to remove the contaminated fluid. She was having food normally for three days, so she was discharged. Later, the drain pipe got blocked which we changed after she was admitted again. She is fine now."
When asked that the family members are alleging about the negligence from the doctors, he said that there was no sign of carelessness from our medical staff.
