New Delhi: Delhi Police have refuted charges levelled against them by some political parties and NGOs that it was targeting a "particular community" while handling the February riot cases in the national capital, saying allegations are baseless.
According to the official information, local police filed charge sheets against 164 people, and 41 others (all Hindus) were charge-sheeted by the Crime Branch. Similarly, 142 people from the Muslim community were charge-sheeted by local police and 63 others were charged by the Crime Branch.
Till June 5, two hundred and five people from each community were charge-sheeted for the Delhi riots cases.

Communal clashes had broken out in northeast Delhi on February 24 after violence between citizenship law supporters and protesters spiralled out of control leaving at least 53 people dead and around 200 injured.
