New Delhi : SI arrested in molestation cases dismissed from service

Sub-Inspector Puneet Grewal, who was arrested on Saturday, has been dismissed from service. Four separate cases have been registered against him including the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

New Delhi: Sub Inspector Puneet Grewal, who was arrested in molestation cases, has been dismissed from service on the orders of the Police Commissioner. Delhi Police tweeted and shared the information that strict action has been taken against Sub Inspector Puneet Grewal, accused of molesting women and minors in Dwarka area.

Between 17 and 20 October in Dwarka area, five girls including a minor were abused by a car rider.

The police team, after scanning more than 200 CCTV cameras, finally arrested Sub Inspector Puneet Grewal who was posted in the Special Cell on Saturday.

A total of four cases have been registered against Grewal. A case has been registered against him under Section 354D, 354 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), said Delhi Police.

Grewal was arrested and produced before the court from where he was sent to judicial custody.

The entire incident came to light when the victim posted a video on Facebook narrating the whole incident. She told that the accused was roaming in a vehicle without a number plate.

Since then, the Delhi Police was under pressure to take strict action against him.
