New Delhi: The BJP on Saturday said that it has no problem with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) constituent parties contesting elections independently in various states, saying it's the "beauty of democracy" in India.
"They can contest elections independently anywhere in the country they want. The parties have their different ideologies and they are free to contest even if they are doing so against the BJP," Sanjay Mayukh, Media co-incharge of the BJP told ETV Bharat here.
Mayuk, when asked about the NDA constituents such as the JD(U) and the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) planning to contest elections independently, said it would not affect the main NDA alliance.
"Parties have contested polls on their own earlier also. It would not have any impact on our alliance at the centre," he said.
Talking about the upcoming elections in Delhi, the BJP leader said his party was confident to form the government after the elections.
"People have understood that AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal lies," he said, adding that BJP was following the path of development for all. Delhi will vote for its assembly elections on February 8 for all 70 seats and the results of the same would be declared on February 11.
