A dumping yard in Mehrauli has been converted into a green park 'Ek Kdaam Aage'. The organisation said the space, which was being used as a dumping ground for the past 25 years, looked bad and we decided to do something about it three years ago. It took three years and everything about ground had been changed for good.

The space was being used as a dumping yard for the past 25 years and it looked really awful and the smell coming out would make life even more difficult for people living in the area.
"We worked for three years without taking rest and converted the dumping yard into a green park," Sandhya Singhal told ETV Bharat. The work was started in the year of 2017 and people supported us all through the period, she said, adding that after levelling the ground plants were brought in from various parts of the city."
"People are really happy now as they can walk or sit in the park anytime they want," said Lagan, secretary, 'Ek Kdaam Aage'.

She said everything has changed in the area ever since the dumping yard was converted into a park as children would play and people come here for a walk.

"Residents are really supportive and have been helping us to maintain it," she added.
