New Delhi: A man allegedly assaulted and force-fed acid to his wife in South Delhi's Tigri on Saturday.
The victim, identified as Priyanka died on Saturday itself. The victim's family then lodged a complaint.
The case has been handed over to Rakesh Kumar, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM).
The victim was a resident of Rohatpur, Faridabad and was married to Ravi living in Sarai Sehatpur, Tigri since June 2018.
Priyanka's family alleged that Ravi was bothering her quite sometime now. Ravi's family would physically abuse her and demand dowry.
They claimed that Priyanka was not given any food for three days straight.
Reportedly, Priyanka was brutally beaten up on Friday night by her in-laws, pushed down the stairs and forced to drink acid. While on the other hand, the accused family claimed that Priyanka drank acid willingly and was taken to a hospital before she died.
