New Delhi: A fake LinkedIn profile of an impersonator posing as Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) officer was busted by the city crime branch who also found out that fraudulent offer letters in exchange for money were also given out by the account holder.
The information came to light when the DMRC Chief Security Officer (CSO) started getting calls from people complaining that money has been taken from them in the name of the job. It is then the CSO complained to the crime branch.
Upon investigation, it was revealed that several such fake LinkedIn profile using the name of actual DMRC employees is being operated using which lakhs of money have been siphoned off by unsuspecting users in the guise of a job offer.
In the complaint given by Santosh Kumar, DMRC's HR, the police have been told that a fake LinkedIn profile in his name is active. The scammers have been using this profile to make money from a lot of people.

Some of the victims traced Santosh Kumar's number and contacted him, following which he came to know about it.
Kumar then told that DMRC is not hiring currently as no vacancy is there.
Crime Branch says that at the moment they have registered a case and in the preliminary investigation, some evidence of the fraud has been found.
