While speaking to ETV Bharat, Congress MP Manicka Tagore said, "It was very unfortunate that any discussion was not allowed there. Under the name of secrecy, facts have been hidden. Govt mustn't lie, no peace till status quo is maintained: Congress

Raising questions over the Central Government, the Congress MP said, "How much area has been occupied by the Chinese PLA? What about the sacrifices of our soldiers who lost their lives? Who is responsible for that? The government should not play with the sacrifices for those jawans who died during the dispute with China when the Modi Government was sleeping."

Earlier today, the Defense Minister had said that both sides will cease their forward deployments in a phased, verified and coordinated manner. He said that the Chinese would keep their troop presence in the North Bank area to the east of Finger 8 and the Indian troops would be based at their permanent base near Finger 3.
