Deepak Prakash, newly-elected Rajya Sabha member from Jharkhand, has said the state government has failed to handle the coronavirus situation well even if the central government provided all possible help to it.

New Delhi: BJP's newly-elected Rajya Sabha member from Jharkhand, Deepak Prakash, who took oath on Wednesday, expressed gratitude towards the party's central leadership, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, saying "it's an honour that they bestowed on me".

Interacting with the ETV Bharat outside the Parliament building here right after taking oath as a member of the upper house, Prakash said he would continue to raise issues concerning Jharkhand.

"I will continue to raise problems and issues of the state, It's my duty and I will fulfil it," he said.


He said the state government has failed to handle the coronavirus crisis well even if the central government provided all possible help to it.

The lawmaker also criticised political parties who have been critical of the BJP, alleging that it was destabilizing non-BJP governments and said it was not the case, they were falling on their on.
