New Delhi: Following the complaint of the owner of the eatery 'Baba Ka Dhaba' against Instagram influencer Gaurav Wasan for misappropriation of funds, the latter has come out in the open with a YouTube video showing bank statements as proof and giving himself a clean chit in the matter.
Wasan has also been called to the Police station for two days for questioning and he is cooperating with the investigation.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Wasan said that he had received a total of ₹3,78,000 and had given all of it to Kanta Prasad, the owner of 'Baba Ka Dhaba' via cheque of Rs 2,33,67, NEFT and the remaining amount via Paytm transfer.
Countering Prasad's claim that he had only given the details of his and his family's account to receive the donation, Wasan said that since he does not have Paytm app on his phone, he had used his wife's account to amass donations.
Kanta Prasad (80) had filed a complaint against Gaurav Wasan on Sunday with Delhi's Malviya Nagar Police.

In his complaint, Prasad said Wasan shot his video and posted it online and convinced the public on social media to donate money to the eatery owner.
He further alleged that Wasan "intentionally and deliberately shared only his and his family/friends bank details and mobile numbers with the donors and collected a huge amount of donation through different mode of payments i.e bank account/wallets without providing any information to the complainant".
The octogenarian has also alleged that Wasan gave his and his family's account numbers for people to send money and not Prasad's.
On October 25, another YouTuber named Lakshya Chaudhary made a video in which Gaurav was accused of embezzling money donated to Prasad. In the video, Kanta Prasad and his manager Tushant also made a point that Gaurav did not give Prasad all the money.
Tushant was with Baba from the very next day the video went viral and now handles Baba's entire business.
Ironically, Prasad's despair had come to light when Wasan captured the eatery owner breaking down as he talked about his struggles and hardship due to lack of customers and shared it on his social media account.
